Yukata de Gin-bura

Yukata de Gin-bura

Yukata de Gin-bura Festival 2015 is a project that turns Ginza-dori from 1-Chome to 8-Chome into a vehicle-free promenade on Sunday, August 2.
In August 1970, Ginza-dori was the first street in Japan to be turned into a vehicle-free promenade. To commemorate that vehicle-free promenade and let visitors to Ginza enjoy a day of summer fun, the Yukata de Gin-bura (“Gin-bura” means strolling through Ginza) Festival began 9 years ago as part of “Holiday Promenade” project held every August. Once again this year various events and attractions evocative of “wa” and “summer in Japan” will be held to help visitors dressed in yukata further enjoy the streets of Ginza decorated in traditional Japanese style, so be sure not to miss Ginza’s summer festival.
