Let\u2019s think about books.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>If you find a book you like, pack it in a tote bag and take it home.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ginza Sony Park has transformed into a \u201cHON &#8211; NO KOEN\u201d<br \/>\nfor a limited time in collaboration with the podcast program \u201cPlanet of Books.\u201d<br \/>\nFeel free to pick up a book and enjoy reading.<br \/>\nAdditionally, if you purchase a tote bag available at the reception,<br \/>\nyou can take home the books you like.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlanet of Books\u201d is a popular podcast hosted<br \/>\nby book coordinator Shintaro Uchinuma,<br \/>\nwhere he discusses various topics revolve around books every week.<br \/>\nThe books displayed in the park are collected<br \/>\nas part of the \u201cBooks We Don\u2019t Want to Throw Away\u201d project,<br \/>\nled by Value Books, a company based in Ueda City, Nagano Prefecture,<br \/>\nspecializing in buying and selling second-hand books.<\/p>\n<p>Value Books receives approximately 30,000 books daily from across Japan.<br \/>\nAbout half of these books are assigned a purchase price and delivered<br \/>\nto new readers through online sales.<br \/>\nHowever, the remaining half, regardless of their content,<br \/>\nare often left without a price due to the balance of supply<br \/>\nand demand in the second-hand book market and many are inevitably recycled.<\/p>\n<p>Yet, the value of a book should not be determined by its price.<br \/>\nIf a book gains meaning for the first time when it resonates with someone\u2019s interest,<br \/>\nthen the moment it catches someone\u2019s attention and is picked up,<br \/>\nit can always become a \u201cnew release\u201d for that person.<\/p>\n<p>At Value Books, some of the books initially destined<br \/>\nfor paper recycling are carefully selected<br \/>\nby hand and given a chance for new encounters as<br \/>\n\u201cBooks We Don\u2019t Want to Throw Away.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During the event period, there will also be live recordings of \u201cPlanet of Books.\u201d<br \/>\nIn an era where everyone scrolls through social media and uses AI,<br \/>\nwhat significance does a physical book hold?<br \/>\nThoughts and dialogues about the future of media will unfold<br \/>\nas part of the scenery of this park.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019 s explore these ideas together.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-34477 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ginza.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/hon_1920x1080.jpg\" alt=\"Key visual of &quot; HON - NO KOEN.&quot; 2026.2.7 sat - 2.23 mon.\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ginza.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/hon_1920x1080.jpg 1920w, https:\/\/www.ginza.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/hon_1920x1080-960x540.jpg 960w, https:\/\/www.ginza.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/hon_1920x1080-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.ginza.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/hon_1920x1080-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.ginza.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/hon_1920x1080-388x218.jpg 388w, https:\/\/www.ginza.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/hon_1920x1080-177x100.jpg 177w, https:\/\/www.ginza.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/hon_1920x1080-640x360.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"break\"><strong>Program<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In collaboration with Shintaro Uchiuma, a book coordinator and host of the podcast &#8220;Book Planet,&#8221; we will gather approximately 20,000 carefully selected second-hand books that are difficult to price for various reasons, transforming Ginza Sony Park B2 into a &#8220;Book Park&#8221; where visitors can freely immerse themselves in reading.<br \/>\nThe books available for reading can be found anywhere within Ginza Sony Park.
