Founded in 1874 by Teizo Tanizawa, who first introduced the character 「鞄」for “bag” by combining「革 (leather)」and「包(wrap)」. The pioneer spirit and meticulous care of this first generation is still intact in the Tanizawa of today.

Our craftsmen cut leather and sew pieces stitch by stitch to carefully produce each bag. That is why our products bring to their owner the gentle warmth of leather imbued directly from the hands of craftsmen.

We believe this “warmness” is our tradition which has been carefully passed down for over 130 years.
