Smoking inside buildings is prohibited as of April 1, 2020, with the full enforcement of the Tokyo Metropolitan Ordinance to Prevent Exposure to Second-Hand Smoke.
As a result, we have come to see more people smoking in the streets. However, smoking in the streets and littering is prohibited in Chuo ward, including Ginza, under the Chuo-ku Ordinance to Eliminate Smoking while Walking and Cigarette End Littering. (“Smoking” includes using heated tobacco products).
Smoking is not allowed on private roads without the permission of the landowner.
If you wish to smoke, please use the designated Smoking Areas marked on the Zen-Ginza-kai Smoking Area Map.
