On the day of the marathon, special traffic regulations will be enforced in Ginza. We apologize for the inconvenience to those accessing the area by vehicle and to all pedestrians through the area, and greatly appreciate your cooperation. Please observe the cautions and take care to avoid injury or accident while you enjoy cheering for the marathon runners and shopping.

Start of the wheelchair marathon and 10K: 9:05 a.m.; Start of the marathon and 10K: 9:10 a.m.
Number of participants: 35,000 people (including wheelchair racers plus 500 people for the 10K)

Estimated time for passing through the Ginza 4-chome Intersection
Wheelchair racers: 10:06 a.m.
Marathon: Lead runner 10:39 a.m.; Final runner 1:56 p.m.

Ginza Traffic Regulations

Traffic regulations will be enforced for about five hours from about 9:30 a.m. until 2:40 p.m.(For reference only – actual hours are subject to change.)
Note: The pedestrian paradise (vehicle-free promenade) will not be held on Ginza-dori St. on the day of the marathon.

For vehicles:
On the day of the marathon, special traffic regulations will be enforced in the entire Tokyo area. As a result, it is expected to be very difficult for vehicles to enter the Ginza district. The same applies for delivery vehicles.
Note: For details, see the Traffic Regulation Map insert in the Asahi, Nikkei or Yomiuri newspaper’s morning edition for Monday, February 25. The insert is only for the Ginza and Tsukiji areas.

For pedestrians/ wheelchairs users
Able to cross till around 9:50a.m.
There will be no crossing of Harumi-dori from Hibiya to the area around Ginza-dori and Ginza-dori from 1- to 4-chome, from around 10:05 a.m. (the entrance of the wheelchair racers) until around 2:00 p.m. (when the final runner has passed through).
The elevators from the underpass accessing the 4-chome Mizuho Bank ATM Corner, the Gucci shop, next to the Mitsukoshi front entrance, the 5-chome Hermes shop, and the Armani shop are wheelchair and stroller accessible.
To the Yurakucho station please use the underpass of Ginza 1-chome station of Yurakucho line.Please note that there will be no crossing of Ginza-dori from 1- to 4-chome till around 9:30 2:00 p.m.
For street level crossing over Ginza-dori in the vicinity of the Ginza-dori and Matsuya-dori intersection in Ginza 3-chome, from about 11:15 a.m. until the last runner passes through at around 2:00 p.m., irregular crossing will be available through temporary crossing zones.

Bicycle crossing:
Bicycles will not be permitted to cross Ginza-dori or Harumi-dori during the marathon.
Please also refrain from cycling through the sidewalks of these streets during the marathon as sidewalks will be very crowded.

Emergency Assistance

First aid:
If there is an emergency, call 119.
The department stores in Ginza have also been requested to provide emergency assistance, so you can ask there for help.

Restrooms:
Please use the restrooms next to the Ginza 1-chome police box and in the stations.
If the situation is urgent, please request assistance at a large commercial facility such as a department store or other shops along the route.
