Yukata de Gin-bura Festival 2025 (Saturday, August 2, from 16:00) Event Information

Turning areas into vehicle-free promenade in Tokyo first began in August 1970 in the areas of Ginza, Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, and Asakusa. In Ginza, the area on Chuo-dori Street between the Ginza-dori Entrance intersection at Ginza 1-chome and the Ginza 8-chome intersection has been closed to traffic on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. We have been holding events under the name of Holiday Promenade on Chuo-dori Street each year when it is closed to traffic to commemorate the vehicle-free promenade and give visitors to Ginza a fun summer day to enjoy.

The Yukata de Gin-bura Festival began in 2007 as one part of this Holiday Promenade to have people come to Ginza wearing a yukata, also a special summer tradition, and enjoy a moment of coolness. This year marks the 19th installment of the event.
Please take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to enjoy the Ginza district in summer to your heart’s content.

This year’s Yukata de Gin-bura will be held on Ginza-dori Street (Ginza Chuo-dori Street) starting at 16:00 with the Dai-Ginza Bon-Odori dance and stalls run by famous Ginza-area stores. Delicious food from famous shops and restaurants that can only be found in Ginza will be served at food stalls on Ginza-dori Street.
There will also be numerous events that parents and children can enjoy together, including rides in police cars, ladder trucks, and fire engines, as well as live painting activities for children.

In addition, there will be many new programs and special offers available to attendees wearing yukata.
Local commercial facilities are also holding events at this time, so be sure to check them out!
Put on your yukata and enjoy the fun of Ginza in the summer.

“Yukata de Ginbura” event will be held as scheduled. We look forward to seeing you there. (Updated on August 2, 8:30 AM)
